Remote Data Backup
Remote data backup is the process of backing up data created by remote and branch offices (ROBOs) and storing it securely. Businesses with ROBOs require backup and recovery solutions that can support the company's data protection policies and business service levels.
Remote data backup can be done in-house with data backup software that ties into the data center, or aided by WAN optimization appliances that let businesses make better use of bandwidth from remote or branch offices to centralized data centers.
Another remote backup and recovery solution that is becoming increasingly popular is cloud backup, or managed services. Using a cloud backup service allows businesses to keep data offsite in case of a disaster and can also save organizations money because they don't have to purchase technology to do it themselves or use staff resources to manage the backups and restores.
